A 4-year-old has died after allegedly being stabbed multiple times by his 14-year-old cousin.
The incident happened around 11 p.m. Saturday night at 2700 N. Graham Ave. at Beechwood Gardens Apartments, located on the city's east side.
Police said the 14-year-old girl fled the scene, but they caught up to her shortly after. She was arrested and preliminarily charged with murder.
The child was transported to Riley hospital at IU Health, where he later died.
IMPD said the victim and his 11-year-old sister were at their grandparents' apartment at the time of the stabbing. The grandparents were upstairs when it happened.
Police said all family members have been notified and an investigation is ongoing.
