Driver transported to hospital following accident with Franklin school bus

Police said a bus with the Franklin Community School Corporation was traveling west on State Road 44 when it was struck by a car heading eastbound.

Johnson Co.

One driver was transported to the hospital after an accident involving a school bus Friday morning.

Police said a bus with the Franklin Community School Corporation was traveling west on State Road 44 when it was struck by a car heading eastbound. 

A witness stated the driver of the car swerved into the path of the bus.

The driver of the car was transported to Methodist Hospital.  The driver’s condition is unknown at this time.

There were three children on the bus at the time, and one child complained of pain.

Police do not believe alcohol played a factor in the accident.

The driver was cited two citations, for seat belt and left of center violations
