Man pleads guilty to fatal 2010 shooting at fairgrounds

A man has pleaded guilty in connection with the fatal shooting at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in 2010.

David Brookins pleaded guilty to reckless homicide.

Brookins is accused of fatally shooting Shawn Campbell, 20, outside the Farm Bureau building on Dec. 21, 2010.

Investigators initially believed Brookins was another victim, because he sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound in the same shooting. 

After more than 200 interviews were conducted and evidence from the scene was analyzed, a warrant was issued for Brookins’ arrest.

Brookins is scheduled to be sentenced on June 1.
