Collie hosts Tackling Homelessness event Sunday, thanks the fans for their support

He is also making an impact off the field through various charity and community organizations. Collie served as host of the 8th Annual Tackling Homelessness event Sunday night at the Colts Complex.

Frank Vogel was a video coordinator with the Boston Celtics in 2000. Larry Bird was the Pacers head coach. A lot has happened from May 2000 to May 2012, but in that time the Pacers have not won a playoff-clinching game at home.

The Indianapolis-based Horizon League is losing its highest profile institution as Butler is moving to the Atlantic-10 Conference. Fox 59 has learned that the school officially notified the League Wednesday morning of its intentions will indeed join the A-10 in time for the 2013-14 season.

IHSAA Basketball Town Hall Meeting in Milan brings back many fond memories

Tuesday's visit to Milan was easily the most anticipated of the 11 scheduled stops on the IHSAA Town Hall tour. After all, the 1954 State Championship won by Milan is often referred to as a reason Indiana had the greatest basketball tournament in the country. That victory by Indians over Muncie Central was the stuff that legends are made of. Bobby Plump is one of the most recognizable figures in Indiana Basketball history thanks to one game-winning shot.

Pacers-Magic NBA Playoff Schedule is Set

For once, the NBA did the Pacers a favor. Not only did Indiana finish the regular season with four consecutive home games, but they they had the final night of the regular season off. Orlando, meanwhile had a game in Memphis Thursday, then traveled to Indianapolis for their first round playoff series against the Pacers.

Colts make it official, Andrew Luck is the pick

Once the Colts secured the first pick of the 2012 NFL Draft, most assumed they would use the selection to take Andrew Luck. Last week, word got out that the Colts had informed Luck he would be the pick. Tuesday, the team officially confirmed their intentions following their first veteran mini-camp practice.

Ever since Frank Vogel took over as head coach of the Pacers last season, he has tried to instill a level of confidence that did not often exist under the previous head coach. Vogel has not been shy in spreading the message both inside the locker room and through the media that the Pacers can achieve greatness sooner rather than later. Moments after a 111-88 victory over Minnesota, Vogel explained he no longer needs to boost up the teams' morale.

Indiana Hoosiers are in the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2008. Even though none of the current players have participating in the post-season, there do not appear to be any first-time jitters. The Hoosiers left Bloomington Monday night to begin preparations for New Mexico State. Prior to the Hoosiers practice Wednesday morning at the University of Portland, Tom Crean expressed confidence in his players demeanor.

When Brad Stevens was hired to replace Todd Lickliter as Butler head coach in April of 2007, he knew it was important to make sure the incoming freshmen (Zach Hahn, Matt Howard, Shawn Vanzant) were still on board to come to Butler even though there was a coaching change. He also knew it was important to start working on the class that would come to Butler the following year.

Ball State entered Saturday's Mid-American Conference opener with a much more impressive record than their opponents, Western Michigan. The Cardinals were 8-4, while Western Michigan was just 6-8. However, a closer look at the Cardinals and Broncos non-conference schedules would forgive WMU for their losing record and could make some fans question the Cardinals mark.

Sure, Thursday was the coldest afternoon in Central Indiana since March 26th, but the Trojans were thankful to still be practicing, preparing for a Semi-State showdown against Carmel.

A car with Utah license plates pulled up to the St. Vincent Sports Performance parking lot Monday. Former Butler Bulldog Gordon Hayward got out, grabbed his workout bag and headed inside. Nearly every day you can see people like Hayward, preparing for his second NBA season with the Jazz, improving their skills inside the facility on the Northwest side of Indianapolis that opened in the fall of 2001.

Ok, I guess technically Jim Caldwell and company are only 1/8 of the way through their season, but if you listen to radio or read the internet following the loss to Cleveland, you understand that most fans are of the belief this season is over.

The top-seed in the WNBA's Eastern Conference looked the part for most of the playoff opening game against the New York Liberty. The visitors led 4-2, and from that point on the Fever had control, pushing the lead to as much as 15 points in the third quarter.
