Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were involved in a police pursuit on the city's east side Thursday afternoon.

It happened near the 4700 block of East 33rd Street around 3:15 p.m.

Police said the suspect ran a stop sign. When an officer tried to pull him over, the man reportedly fled. The suspect headed north on East Arthington. He ended up crashing his car into the front of a home to avoid the street's dead end. A mother and her son were sitting on a couch inside when the crash happened.

The suspect got out of his car and took off running but police were able to catch up with him.

The suspect faces eight felony charges, including posession of marijuana, posession of a firearm and having other convictions against him at the time.

The homeowner complained of minor leg pain. Her son, who also happens to be an IMPD officer, took her to the hospital.

The suspect's name hasn't been released yet.
