Metro Police are requesting the public's help locating a 17-year-old armed robbery suspect.

According to police, a man told them he was mowing the grass in his backyard in the 9300 block of Cherry Valley Court when his neighbor's grandson approached him. The man said the boy, identified as Contrell DeAndre Cody, offered to mow his grass for $5.

When the man opened his wallet to pay, Cody reportedly put a gun to the man's chest and demanded all of his money.

Cody then fled with about $600, according to officials. He is believed to have been involved in at least one other robbery in the Lawrence area.

The suspect was wearing a black hoody and black sweat pants. He had medium length, black twisties and a tattoo on his face. The victim said he believed the black suspect had a cross tattoo beneath his left eye.

Cody is also known to ride an olive green BMX bike.
