Frankfort, Ind.—There's good news from the family of the Frankfort, Indiana soldier who was wounded in Afghanistan last week.
Sergeant Jamie Jarboe's wife says the 27-year-old was awake and able to speak Monday morning. Sgt. Jarboe was shot several times while on duty last week. His mother and father flew to his side from Indianapolis Tuesday. They tell us Jamie is on the road to recovery.
He is scheduled for a spinal surgery later this week. Right now, Sgt. Jarboe still can't move his legs and doctors don't know how permanent the spinal damage will be. Jamie was injured during an apparent Taliban attack on U.S. Troops. He was on his third tour of duty.
