A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for southern Indiana counties until 10 p.m. Friday.
There is a slight risk for severe thunderstorms across Central Indiana Friday afternoon and evening.
The storms are expected to arrive at approximately 2 p.m.
The severe thunderstorms have the potential to produce large hail, damaging winds, lightning and isolated tornadoes.
The forecast for the weekend is expected to be both wet and hot.
Temperatures both Saturday and Sunday will hit the mid 80’s with a chance for some stronger storms to roll through on Saturday, said Fox59’s Meteorologist Ron Smiley. The rain and storm chances really begins going up as early as this afternoon and will continue through the later Saturday hours.
