Suspect arrested in fatal Saturday morning hit-and-run

Metro FACT detectives make an arrest in an fatal Saturday morning hit-and-run accident.

Officers arrested 24-year-old Justin Lang Saturday afternoon, preliminarily charging him with felony operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing death.

IMPD spokesperson Kendale Adams says detectives worked for almost eleven straight hours to identify and persuade the suspect's family to surrender him. 

Police took Lang into custody at the corner of Lynhurst Drive and Raymond Street around 3:00 p.m. Saturday.

Lang suffered from a bruised left eye and a severely injured right foot. Those injuries are believed to have been a result of the collision. Lang was taken to Wishard Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Lang admitted to detectives he was the driver of the vehicle and had consumed alcohol prior to the crash.

He voluntarily submitted to blood tests.

Lang is being held at the Arrestee Processing Center on $60,000 dollars bond awaiting formal charges.

IMPD adds since this is an ongoing investigation, more charges are possible.
