On the 'Life of Pi' set
Though many Hollywood insiders thought Ang Lee's "Life of Pi" was a long shot at the box office, it has become the biggest hit among its Oscar rivals, with its special effects-heavy tale of a boy, a tiger and a lifeboat connecting with audiences around the world.

Suraj Sharma, who portrays the title character in "Life of Pi," is shown on the set in Taiwan, where the production crew built a 1.7-million-gallon water tank that generated capsizing waves to replicate Pacific storms.
